The primary police agency in the Rural Municipality of Springfield is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Its eleven-member detachment is located at 625 Balsam Ave in Oakbank.

The municipality also provides supplementary policing that works in partnership with the RCMP and other agencies, Springfield Public Safety (Springfield P.S.), operates from a community office at the southwest corner of Balsam and Cedar Avenues, in the Springfield Kinsmen Recreation Center at Oakbank. The unit consists of one Chief Constable (the Public Safety Officer) and two seasonal police constables. Constables are sworn in and for the Province of Manitoba. The Chief Constable is responsible to the Chief Administrative Officer, Reeve and Council, and regulated by Manitoba Law Enforcement Services and liable to investigation by the Manitoba Law Enforcement Review Agency.
