To provide municipal services related to planning, development, water, wastewater, solid waste services, drainage maintenance and improvements, maintenance (roadside mowing, grading, gravel application, providing dust control service, etc.) and repairs of roadway systems in a safe and timely manner, and within budget.
The Public Works Department has been given the authority by council, to oversee daily operations. Public Works Department reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Council makes decisions relating to Public Works in the following areas: budgets, policies, service standards, major capital projects, major contract awards, and property acquisitions.
